Outerline 1.2.10
Summary
A smoother writing experience on iPhone Duo, with more consistent sheets and controls, cleaner translucent backgrounds, and more room to write in two-column layouts. This update also removes unnecessary Local Network permission prompts and improves iCloud library upgrades on Mac and iPhone.
macOS
Fixes
- Removed unnecessary hostname lookups that could trigger Local Network permission prompts during iCloud library setup and publishing-account sign-in.
- Fixed obsolete metadata recreated by older app versions causing an update warning after an iCloud library migration. Outerline now archives that metadata automatically once the migrated library is verified, preserving the working library and keeping loose notes available for recovery.
iOS
Improvements
- Beginning text editing in a two-column layout automatically hides the sidebar, giving the editor the full available width. Reopen the sidebar whenever you need it using the sidebar toggle.
- The Publish sheet opens fully on iPhone Duo, folded or unfolded. Standard iPhones retain the compact and expanded presentation options.
- Sheet close controls adapt to iPhone Duo’s vertical toolbar, including Format, Publish, View Options, Choose iCloud Library, Link Document, and subscription or purchase recovery. Recovered Edits also has an adaptive Done control.
- While Format is open, the editor’s Star and Preview shortcuts collapse into the ellipsis menu to leave more room in the vertical toolbar. They return when Format closes.
- Sheet title areas use consistent transparent navigation backgrounds. Publish and What’s New also use the system sheet surface without separate page or footer fills.
Fixes
- Fixed the mismatched white footer behind and below the Publish sheet’s primary button when expanded.
- Removed the rectangular strip behind the Format title in light and dark mode, including across iPhone Duo orientations.
- Removed an unnecessary hostname lookup that could trigger a Local Network permission prompt when creating or migrating an iCloud library.
- Fixed obsolete metadata recreated by older app versions causing an update warning after upgrading to the new iCloud library layout. Outerline now archives that metadata automatically once the migrated library is verified, preserving the working library and keeping loose notes available for recovery.
